Ten years after the release of his film Maidan, Sergei Loznitsa resumes his Ukrainian narratives in The Invasion by documenting the country’s struggle against the Russian invasion.

Shot over a period of two years, the film portrays the life of the civilian population in Ukraine during times of war. The Invasion offers a unique and intimate testimony of Ukrainian resilience in the face of a barbaric invasion. In the second part of his Ukrainian diptych, Loznitsa paints a monumental canvas of a nation determined to defend its right to exist.

The film will be introduced by Sergei Loznitsa and the screening is followed by an extensive Q&A session, moderated by Ianthe Mosselman.
