Agnieszka Kwiatkowska

Agnieszka Kwiatkowska is a contemporary mosaicist based in Amsterdam. In today’s fast-paced culture which often values the intangible, she creates time-intensive, carefully crafted, physical work.

My hope is for my art to remind us to slow down, to attentively watch and examine the world around us, and to remember that we’re all parts of a whole.

The main focus of this series is an exploration of the gentle and soothing quality of the mosaics, where pieces merge and fuse together. “Silence” is that point in time and space, where the sharp lines blur, and where the rough and physical becomes fluid and unbroken.

Each piece of her mosaics is handcrafted using a special hammer and hardie, following the traditional Italian method. She makes unique wall art pieces as well as private commissions and commercial projects.
