In the charged, political performance Reverse Colonialism! four citizens of Antwerp with roots from various countries in Africa take the stage. They address the difficult position they have in European society.
On the one hand constantly confronted with the limits of successful integration, but on the other hand not being able to return to their countries of birth. Their answer? Founding a new country for Afro-European citizens where they can decide the rules and conditions. During this utopian exploration they challenge the audience to use their fantasies, ideas and prejudices.
After the performance we speak with theatre director Ahilan Ratnamohan, famous for his honest and surprising performances, and the actors: all young men who once dreamed of a professional football carrier but never made it to the real top and now tell their life stories on stage.
