The play tells the experience of the revolution through the eyes of two unique women, an Egyptian photographer and a human rights researcher in Libya. The Egyptian photographer documents the events at the Tahrir Square and therewith goes against the prevailing ideas on female photographers.
The human rights researcher in Libya finds herself in a country that is slowly falling apart, beyond the media’s notice. With this inspiring play, we aim to highlight the important work of women in the Arab world. The play has been written by Anna Maria Versloot and directed by Pieter Athmer. The play is followed by an interview with Hanan Salah and Eman Helal, whose stories inspired the characters of the play.

Het stuk vertelt de beleving van de revolutie door de ogen van twee unieke vrouwen, een Egyptische fotografe en een mensenrechten-onderzoekster in Libië. De Egyptische fotografe legde de gebeurtenissen op Tahrirplein vast, geheel tegen de heersende opvattingen over vrouwelijke fotografen in. De mensenrechten-onderzoekster in Libië beweegt zich in een land dat langzaam uiteen valt, maar dat zich aan het oog van de media onttrekt.
Met dit inspirerende stuk willen wij het belangrijke werk van vrouwen in de Arabische wereld onder de aandacht brengen. Het stuk is geschreven door Anna Maria Versloot en is geregisseerd door Pieter Athmer. Na het theaterstuk volgt een gesprek met Hanan Salah en Eman Helal, op wie de personages in het spel geïnspireerd zijn.
