Emeritis Prof. dr. Gloria Wekker houdt een presentatie over sexuality en gender in Suriname, voorafgaand aan de film Onbekend, Onbemind (14:45 uur Kleine Zaal). Prof. dr. Wekker is sociaal en cultureel antropoloog (UvA 1981), haar specialisaties liggen op het gebied van Gender Studies, Sexuality Studies, African American Studies, en Caribbean Studies. Sinds 2001 bezet zij de Aletta (IIAV)-leerstoel Gender en Ethniciteit aan de faculteit Geesteswetenschappen. Haar volgende boek is getiteld “White Innocence; Paradoxes of Colonialism and Race” en komt uit bij Duker University Press, 2016. Voertaal Nederlands.        Prof. dr. Wekker is a social and cultural anthropologist (UvA 1981), she has specialised herself in Gender Studies, Sexualities, African American Studies and Caribbean Studies. Since 2001 she is assigned to the Aletta chair on Gender and Ethnicity from the Faculty of Humanities.
