370 years ago Thomas Hobbes compared the government to a giant sea monster. And that’s a fitting image for the government that we have today. A giant, slow, immovable and almost mythical monster that has the power to influence people’s lives greatly.

Anja Reimann is a civil servant turned activist with a passion to fight the current climate crises. Together with a small group she started a petition within the municipality of Amsterdam. 1200 colleagues signed on to criticize the current state on climate action and demanded immediate change.

Anja wants to effect change from within the system. There are 14 million people that work for the government in the European Union. How can we rise up and turn abstraction into action? How can we move faster and use the monster’s power for good?
