The decision to delay Brexit until October 31, temporarily lowered the temperature of the crisis. In the meantime, the political parties in the UK are making last minute preparations for a European election they never expected to take part in, and which Theresa May is still hoping to avoid by passing a Brexit deal between now and May 22.

What will Brexit look like in the end? What are the changes of a second referendum? And what will happen in the coming months in the UK? Guardian columnist and Oxford professor Timothy Garton Ash discusses the current developments in the UK around Brexit and his expectations for the future. A lot can happen between now and June, let alone October…

Timothy Garton Ash will be joined in conversation by Paul Scheffer.

Spoken word artist Madi Maxwell-Libby will perform several pieces about Brexit and Europe.
