The famous opera Carmen, by Georges Bizet, created and perpetuated a stereotypical image of Roma women that is dominant in the imagery of Western societies. Director Vasco Araújo dissects this image with a group of Roma women, including the lawyer and activist Pastora Filigrana, who demand their own space.
Accompanying the film, we organize a talk by the lawyer and activist Pastora Filigrana. You can buy a combi-ticket to visit both the film and the talk.
