Ondanks vele tegenslagen en zondige verleidingen houden vijf explosieve dansers uit Soweto, vast aan hun vertrouwen op een mooi leven. Ze bijten zich vast in alles wat mooi is en dat maakt hen ‘unbreakable’. Via een mix van pantsula en bone breaking – twee vormen van Zuid-Afrikaanse streetdance – vertellen ze hun persoonlijke verhaal, opgroeiend in een township in het Zuid-Afrikaanse Johannesberg.
Deze indrukwekkende en humorvolle voorstelling is een overweldigende mix van dans, zang, visuals en een soundtrack van melodieuze Afrohouse en pompende Zuid-Afrikaanse Amapiano beats.
Unbreakable is een samenwerking tussen de Rotterdamse choreograaf Lloyd Marengo, de Londense theaterregisseur Jonzi D en de vijf dansers van Soweto Skeleton Movers uit Johannesburg. Lloyd Marengo is een van de oprichters van het Hiphophuis, hij werkte onder andere samen met Scapino Ballet en Conny Janssen Danst.

Five explosive dancers from Soweto, a township in Johannesberg, South Africa, tell their personal life stories through a mix of pantsula and bone breaking, two forms of South African street dance.
Despite the many setbacks and bad temptations that came their way, they keep their faith in life, they are ‘unbreakable’. This impressive and humorous performance is an overwhelming mix of dance, vocals, visuals and a soundtrack of melodic Afrohouse and pumping South African Amapiano beats.
Unbreakable is a collaboration between Rotterdam-based choreographer Lloyd Marengo, London-based theatre director Jonzi D and the five dancers of Soweto Skeleton Movers from Johannesburg. Lloyd Marengo is one of the founders of the Hiphophuis, he has worked with Scapino Ballet and Conny Janssen Danst, among others.
